Top AI content of 2024

Want to spend your vacation up-skilling on AI? Start here

My fantasy football team didn’t make the playoffs this year because I spend all my time consuming AI content. So I figured I should put all my content consumption to good use for you all. Below are my top reads, listens and watches of 2024 - not at all comprehensive as I didn’t start keeping track of this until recently, but its a good start.

Books

Cointelligence (Ethan Mollick) - My number 1 recommendation for anyone curious about AI. It breaks down what has happened and what might happen in the future in a clear and accessible way. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Deep Utopia (Nick Bostrom) - Nick’s first hit, Superintelligence, is about managing the risks of a superintelligent entity. His latest is the other side of the coin - what happens if everything goes right, how will it reshape society, and what will the future look like

Brave New Words (Sal Khan) - Khan Academy boasts one of the first and most effective AI integration with Kahnmigo, an AI powered teaching assistant. This book is about Sal Khan’s experience building it and getting early access to OpenAI tech.

Who Makes the NBA? (Seth Stephens-Davidowitz) - Data scientist analyzes NBA data using AI and cowrites a book with ChatGPT that is both a great use case on collaborative analysis with AI and moneyball type insights into the NBA

The World I See (Dr. Fei-Fei Li) - Memoir of one of the pioneers in AI, her experience growing up in China and working in Stanford in the early days of AI. Well written and inspiring.
